A swollen battery shows at the edge

The complaint we see most is not a drop but a battery. Is your watch flat by mid-afternoon, does it cut out while there should still be charge, or can you see a gap appearing along the edge of the screen? Then the battery is swelling and pushing the screen off the case. Take the watch off and bring it in, because from that moment the glass is no longer sealed and moisture reaches the electronics. We fit fresh sealing after every repair, but we do not promise what we cannot deliver: a watch that has been opened no longer keeps water out the way it did from the factory. So no swimming or diving with it after a repair.

A watch is small enough to drop off in passing, and because it stays with us for a day you can also have it collected and returned. Insured post works too.

Frequently asked questions about Apple Watch repair

How long does an Apple Watch repair take?

Allow one to two working days. The screen has to be released from the case with heat, the cables underneath are small and fragile, and afterwards the watch has to be sealed again and tested. That is precision work we would rather do properly than quickly.

The edge of my screen is lifting, what is that?

A swollen battery. Take the watch off, stop charging it and bring it in. Carrying on makes the swelling worse, and then the screen joins the battery on the bill because it is being pushed off from the inside.

Will my Apple Watch still be water resistant?

Not the way it was from the factory, and we say so beforehand rather than after. We fit fresh sealing and the watch will handle rain and washing your hands, but we advise against swimming and diving after a repair. Anyone promising you otherwise cannot measure it.

Can just the glass be replaced?

No. The glass is laminated to the display panel and the touch layer, so it is one part. That sounds dearer than glass alone, but it is also why it genuinely feels like new again afterwards instead of the touch faltering in places.

Is a repair worth it on an older Apple Watch?

With a battery, almost always: it is a small job that buys you years. With a cracked screen on an old model the sums honestly point the other way more often, and we will say so. The diagnosis is free, so you can decide with the real price in front of you.
