Why a Galaxy screen comes with its frame

On most Galaxy models the AMOLED panel is laminated to the metal frame at the factory, and on the curved-edge handsets the screen wraps into the side. Separating that panel from the frame rarely survives the attempt, so we fit screen and frame as one assembly and rebuild the water seal in the same step. If your model has the fingerprint reader under the display, it belongs to the new panel and you will register your fingers again after the repair — we do that with you before you head out of the door. On the Z Fold and Z Flip it is a folding inner display with a hinge underneath: a different kind of repair, and a dearer one, so that starts with a free diagnosis.

Where to find us in Amsterdam

Our workshop is on Rijnstraat 76-H in the Rivierenbuurt, walking distance from Amsterdam RAI station and close to the Zuidas, De Pijp and Oud-Zuid. Tram 4 brings you to the door from the centre. If you cannot come in, we will collect your Galaxy and bring it back after the repair, or you can send it to us by insured post.

Frequently asked questions about Samsung repair

How long does a Samsung repair take?

A screen or battery in an S or A series handset usually takes about 30 minutes and we do it while you wait, provided we have the part in stock. A folding handset or work on the board is workshop work and takes longer; you will hear which applies to you at the diagnosis.

Will my fingerprint reader still work after a screen replacement?

Yes, but you will need to register your fingers again. On models with the reader under the display the sensor is part of the panel, so it comes with the new screen. Before you leave we check together that it responds across the whole area rather than only in the middle.

Will my Galaxy still be water resistant afterwards?

We fit fresh sealing all round on reassembly, because reusing old adhesive is exactly how a phone lets moisture in later. Even so, we will be straight with you: a handset that has been opened no longer keeps water out the way it did from the factory. So do not take it swimming just because it looks new again.

Do you repair the Z Fold and Z Flip?

Yes, but it is a different story from a flat screen. The inner panel folds and sits on a hinge, and both the part and the labour cost more. If there is a line or a dead band along the crease, come in for a free diagnosis; you will know what it costs before you decide anything.
