Nintendo Switch repair in Amsterdam Zuid covers the original model, the Lite and the OLED, and separate Joy-Con controllers. The Switch is a console you take with you, and that shows in what fails on it. The two complaints we see most are stick drift, where your character moves while you are not touching the stick, and a charging port that gives up because the console goes in and out of the dock daily.

Stick drift happens because the sensor in the stick wears and dirt works its way in. Cleaning sometimes helps for a while, but once the drift comes back the part is done and we replace the stick. That is a smaller job than buying a whole new controller. The charging port takes force with every dock movement and on most models is soldered in place, so that is soldering work. We test first with a cable and charger we know to be good. Diagnosis is free, and you hear the price before we start. These repairs do not touch the storage, so your save games stay as they are.

Frequently asked questions about Nintendo repair

My character moves while I am not touching the stick.

That is stick drift: the sensor in the stick is worn and dirt has got into it. Cleaning sometimes helps temporarily, but if the drift returns we replace the stick. That is cheaper than buying a new controller.

My Switch will not charge, or only charges in the dock.

Bring your dock, cable and adapter and we will rule those out first. If it is the port in the console itself, on most models that is soldered in place. If there is only lint in the port, we clean it and that is the end of it.

Do you repair Joy-Con drift?

Yes. We replace the stick in the Joy-Con when the sensor is worn. Bring the controller that has the problem; the console itself is not always needed for that.

Which Switch models do you repair?

The Nintendo Switch, the Switch OLED and the Switch Lite, plus separate Joy-Con controllers. The Lite is one piece; on the other models the controllers slide off.

How long does a Switch repair take?

Replacing a stick is usually quick. A screen, or a charging port that is soldered in, is workshop work: you leave the console with us and hear at the diagnosis when it will be ready.

Will my save games be kept?

The repairs above do not touch the storage, so your saves stay as they are. With Nintendo Switch Online, many saves are also in the cloud.
