Sonos speaker and soundbar repair in Amsterdam

No sound from the TV, a Sub that hums, a Move 2 that will not hold a charge or a speaker that will not power on: what fails on Sonos and what can be repaired.

Sonos speaker and soundbar repair in Amsterdam

Sonos devices are built to disappear into a living room, which makes it easy to forget they are electronics with power supplies, amplifiers and batteries inside. When one stops, it is worth working out whether the fault is in the speaker or in the network around it, because the repairs are very different.

Blue Apple repairs Sonos speakers and soundbars at Rijnstraat 76-H in Amsterdam. Every model has its own page with the repairs we offer for it: start at the sound systems repair page.

What usually goes wrong with Sonos speakers and soundbars

Before you assume the hardware has failed, restart the speaker, check the Sonos app and your router, and try a different HDMI cable and port on the TV. Many "faults" end there. If the problem remains, these are the ones we see.

  • No sound from the TV on an Arc, Arc Ultra, Beam or Beam Ultra. A soundbar that is on but silent for TV audio can be a failed HDMI eARC board, which is a repair, or just a TV setting or cable, which is not.
  • Will not power on, or keeps restarting. A dead or restarting speaker points at the power supply or the main board. A speaker that powers up and then cuts out under load can be an amplifier fault.
  • Sub that hums, rattles or will not connect. A hum or buzz from a Sub can be a driver or the amplifier board. A Sub that will not pair is often a software or network fix first.
  • Move 2 battery that no longer holds a charge. A portable speaker used and charged daily loses battery capacity over a few years.
  • Touch controls or ports that fail. The touch panel on top, the line-in on a Five or the power inlet can wear or fail.

The Sonos models we repair

Every model below has its own page, with the repairs we offer for it and what each one costs.

Repair or replace?

Sonos speakers are repaired less often than they deserve: a single failed board or a tired battery is usually a fraction of the price of a new Arc or Five. The honest limit is age: very old products can lose software support, and we tell you after the diagnosis if the repair would be money wasted.

Looking after your Sonos

  • Give it ventilation. A soundbar pushed into a closed cabinet runs hot and shortens the life of its electronics.
  • Use a surge protector. A power spike is how many amplifier and power boards die.
  • Charge a Move 2 normally. Do not leave a portable speaker empty for months or in a hot car.
