The Apple Watch Ultra is made for people who use a watch hard: hiking, diving, running, climbing. It is the toughest of the Apple Watches, and also the most expensive to repair, which makes it the one where a good diagnosis matters most and where a protective case is the cheapest repair there is.
Blue Apple repairs the Apple Watch Ultra, Ultra 2 and Ultra 3 at Rijnstraat 76-H in Amsterdam. Each model has its own page with the repairs we offer for it: start at the Apple Watch repair page.
What is different about the Apple Watch Ultra
- A flat sapphire front. The Ultra has a flat sapphire crystal over its display, harder to scratch than the glass of other Apple Watches. It cracks rarely, but when it does the display under it is replaced with it.
- A titanium case. The 49 mm case is titanium and takes a lot of knocks. The faults it picks up are the ones inside rather than the case.
- An Action button. The orange Action button on the side is a separate part from the crown and the side button, and it wears like them.
- Rated for diving. The Ultra is rated well beyond the swimming rating of the other watches. That rating depends on seals that age and are weakened by drops and repairs.
What usually goes wrong with the Apple Watch Ultra
- Cracked or scratched display. Rare thanks to the sapphire, and a costly repair when it happens. The model page shows the options and the price.
- Battery that has faded. Even the long battery of the Ultra fades. After a couple of years a new battery is worthwhile.
- Digital Crown or Action button that sticks. Grit, sunscreen or salt in the buttons. We clean or replace them.
- Water in the case. A watch that fogs up or acts oddly after a dive or a swim. Bring it in quickly.
- Does not charge. A dirty back, a worn charger or a fault inside.
The Apple Watch Ultra models we repair
Every model below has its own page, with the repairs we offer for it and what each one costs.
Apple Watch Ultra 2, Apple Watch Ultra, Apple Watch Ultra 3.
Repair or replace?
An Ultra holds its value and costs a lot to replace, so a repair of a battery, a button or a display is usually in proportion. If it has been in salt water and no longer starts, we say after the diagnosis what can be done, and whether the water resistance can be trusted again.
Looking after your Apple Watch Ultra
- Rinse it in fresh water after salt. Salt corrodes buttons and seals.
- Clean the crown and the Action button. Sunscreen and grit are what make them stick.
- Take care with the back after a repair. The seals are what make the dive rating.
