Apple Watch SE and Series 3 to 6 repair in Amsterdam

The Apple Watch SE and Series 3, 4, 5 and 6: batteries that have swollen, screens, crowns and which of these older watches are worth a repair.

Apple Watch SE and Series 3 to 6 repair in Amsterdam

The Apple Watch SE and Series 3 to 6 cover six years of watches, and a lot of them are still on a wrist. The older ones are also at the age where the battery is the thing to look at, and where a swollen one pushes the display off the case, which is a fault that is worth knowing.

Blue Apple repairs the Apple Watch SE, in all its generations, and the Series 3, 4, 5 and 6 at Rijnstraat 76-H in Amsterdam. Each model has its own page with the repairs we offer for it: start at the Apple Watch repair page.

What is different about the Apple Watch SE and Series 3 to 6

  • A smaller case on the older watches. The Series 3 comes in 38 and 42 mm, the Series 4, 5 and 6 and the first SE in 40 and 44 mm. The display and the parts differ between those sizes.
  • Always-on from the Series 5. The Series 5 and 6 have an always-on display, and the first SE models do not. The model page shows what yours has.
  • The SE is the cheaper one. The SE is built like a Series 6 with fewer sensors, and its repairs are the same kind.
  • A battery that has aged. On a watch of 2017 to 2020 the battery has long passed its prime. A new battery is the most worthwhile repair.

What usually goes wrong with the Apple Watch SE and Series 3 to 6

  • Swollen battery. On the older watches a battery can swell, push the display up and crack the glass. If the screen is lifting at the edge, take the watch off the charger and bring it in.
  • Battery that does not last. A watch that dies by lunch. A new battery makes it a daily watch again.
  • Cracked or damaged display. The most common visible repair. The model page lists the options for your watch and what each costs.
  • Digital Crown that sticks. Dust and sweat in the crown.
  • Does not turn on or charge. A dead battery, a dirty back or a fault inside. We measure where it stops.

Repair or replace?

For an Apple Watch of this age the choice is between a battery and a screen, and the right answer depends on how much you use it. A battery is nearly always worth it on a watch you like. A screen on a Series 3 may cost close to a used watch, and we say so after the diagnosis. Check which watchOS your model can still run.

Looking after your Apple Watch

  • Take it off the charger the moment it fits badly. A swollen battery is a safety issue.
  • Do not charge it under a pillow or on a radiator. Heat swells an old battery.
  • Use a screen protector. It is cheaper than the screen.
