iPad 7th to 11th generation repair in Amsterdam

The standard iPad is the family tablet: on the sofa, in the car, in the hands of a child. It takes more knocks than any other iPad and is the one where the question is often whether a repair is in proportion to what a new one costs.

Blue Apple repairs the standard iPad, from the 7th to the 11th generation, at Rijnstraat 76-H in Amsterdam. Each model has its own page with the repairs we offer for it: start at the iPad repair page.

What is different about the iPad (7th to 11th generation)

  • Home button on the 7th to 9th generation. The 10.2 inch iPads have a home button with Touch ID and charge over Lightning. The home button is paired to the tablet.
  • No home button from the 10th generation. The 10th generation and later have a larger display, USB-C and Touch ID in the top button.
  • Different display parts. The 10.2 inch and the 10.9 inch iPads have different screens, which is why the model page matters.
  • Simpler and cheaper than the Pro. The standard iPad is the simplest of the range, and its parts cost less.

What usually goes wrong with the standard iPad

  • Cracked screen. The most common repair on the family iPad. The model page shows what we offer and what it costs.
  • Charging port faults. A Lightning or USB-C port that is loose, dirty or worn.
  • Home button or Touch ID that stops working. Worn buttons or a sensor that no longer reads, on the models with a home button.
  • Battery that has faded. An iPad from 2019 to 2021 whose battery gives a fraction of its old life.
  • Does not turn on. A flat battery, a charging fault or a board fault.

Repair or replace?

A repair on a standard iPad has to be in proportion to what a new one costs. A battery or a screen on a 9th generation or newer is usually worth it. On an older iPad with several faults at once, we say honestly after the diagnosis that the money may be better kept. A case with a rubber edge is the cheapest repair there is.

Looking after your iPad

  • Use a rubber case. It is what makes a family iPad survive a drop.
  • Do not leave it charging overnight every night. It is easier on the battery.
  • Keep the port clean. Lint is the usual cause of charging trouble.
