- Ear cushions that flake or flatten. Sweat and daily wear break down the surface, and flattened cushions lose the seal that the noise cancelling needs.
- Battery that no longer lasts. A battery that once gave a long-haul flight now needs charging sooner.
- USB-C port that is loose or dirty. A charge that only works at an angle, or only some of the time.
- Headband wear. The cover and padding wear where the band rests on your head.
- Sound on one side or dropouts. Check the connection and the pads; a quiet cup can be a driver or its wire.

Looking after your headphones
- Wipe the cushions after use. It slows the breakdown of the surface.
- Keep them in the case. A case protects the band and cups better than a bag pocket.
- Charge them before they are fully empty. Deep discharge ages the battery.
