Samsung Galaxy S22, S21, S20 and Note 20 repair in Amsterdam

Between 2020 and 2022 Samsung made a run of excellent phones that many people still use: the S20, S21 and S22, their FE versions, and the Note 20. They are now four to six years old, which means the battery is the first thing to look at and the screen is the second. They also share a fault of their own.

Blue Apple repairs the Galaxy S22, S21, S20 and Note 20 phones, including the FE models, at Rijnstraat 76-H in Amsterdam. Each model has its own page with the repairs we offer for it: start at the Samsung repair page.

What is different about the Galaxy S22, S21, S20 and Note 20

  • Curved screens on the Ultra models. The S20 Ultra, S21 Ultra, S22 Ultra and Note 20 Ultra have displays that curve over the edges. They are a more delicate and more expensive part than the flat screens on the other models.
  • S Pen on two of them. The Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra have an S Pen, and so does the S22 Ultra. The pen has its own slot and its own sensor layer in the display.
  • Plastic backs on some. A few models in these ranges, among them the S21 and the Note 20, have a plastic back instead of glass, which cracks less but scuffs more.
  • The green line. These phones are known for a vertical green or pink line that can appear in the OLED panel on its own. Only a new display fixes it.

What usually goes wrong with the Galaxy S22, S21, S20 and Note 20

  • Battery that no longer lasts. The most common repair on a phone of this age. A new battery turns a phone that needs charging twice a day back into one that lasts.
  • Cracked or lined screen. A crack from a drop, or a coloured line from the panel. The model page lists the screen options for your phone.
  • Swollen battery. On an old phone a battery that has swollen pushes the screen up from the frame. Do not charge it and bring it in.
  • Charging port faults. A loose or dirty port, or a cable that has worn it.
  • Cracked back glass. On the models with a glass back, a hard fall breaks it.

Repair or replace?

These phones are old enough that the honest question is always whether the repair is in proportion. A battery or a screen is worth it on a phone that is otherwise healthy and gets software updates. For one with a failing board and a cracked screen at the same time, we say so after the diagnosis.

Looking after your Galaxy

  • Replace the battery before it swells. A swollen battery is a safety issue as well as a repair.
  • Do not use the phone while it charges fast in the heat. Heat ages an old battery quickly.
  • Use a screen protector on a curved screen. The edges are the part that cracks.

Questions about repairing a Galaxy S22, S21, S20 or Note 20

My Galaxy has a green line on the screen. Is it the glass?

Usually not: it is the OLED panel. A new display fixes it, and our article on the OLED and LCD screens explains why.

Do you repair the Note 20?

Yes, the Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra are on the Samsung page with the S22, S21 and S20 models.
