Beats Studio headphones are worn hard: in the gym, on the commute, in a bag. Their weak points are well known, and they are the kind of faults that make people think the headphones are finished when only one part has given out.
Blue Apple repairs Beats headphones at Rijnstraat 76-H in Amsterdam. Every model has its own page with the repairs we offer for it: start at the Beats repair page.
What usually goes wrong with Beats headphones
- Ear cushions that peel. The cushions are the first part to go, with the faux leather peeling away in strips. It is the most common complaint, and the cheapest fix.
- Cracked headband or hinge. The hinge area near the headband is where Beats headphones are known to crack, usually after being folded or sat on. A cracked hinge can break completely if it is stressed again.
- Battery that no longer lasts. The battery loses capacity with years of daily charging.
- Charging port faults. The Studio3 Wireless charges over micro-USB and the Studio Pro over USB-C. Either can wear loose or fill with dirt.
- Sound on one side, or crackling. A cable inside the headband can fail where it flexes, or a driver can have been damaged.
The Beats models we repair
Every model below has its own page, with the repairs we offer for it and what each one costs.
Beats Studio Pro, Beats Studio3 Wireless.
Repair or replace?
A new Studio Pro is a significant purchase and a repair is usually a small fraction of it. The Studio3 Wireless is an older model: if it has several faults at once we say honestly whether a repair is worth it. A hinge crack is worth repairing early, before it fails completely.
Looking after your Beats
- Do not sit on them or force them into a bag. The hinge is the weak point.
- Wipe the cushions after workouts. Sweat is what peels the faux leather.
- Use the case. The case is the cheapest protection against a cracked hinge.
