The Osmo range is built to be carried everywhere: the Pocket in a jacket, the Action on a helmet or a bike, the Osmo 360 on a pole. That is exactly where they get hurt. Most of what we see is the same few things, and most of them are repairable parts rather than a reason to buy a new camera.
Blue Apple repairs DJI Osmo cameras at Rijnstraat 76-H in Amsterdam. Every model has its own page with the repairs we offer for it: start at the DJI Osmo repair page.
What usually goes wrong with DJI Osmo cameras
- Gimbal errors on the Osmo Pocket. A gimbal that will not centre, shakes, or reports a motor error. Sand, a knock, or a camera put in a bag without its cover can block the tiny gimbal motors or strain the flat cable behind the camera.
- Scratched or cracked lens glass. On the Action cameras and the Osmo 360 the glass sits at the edge of the body, so it takes the hits. A scratch shows as flare or a soft patch in every shot, not just the ones you notice.
- Worn waterproof seals. The Action cameras are waterproof without a case, but only while the door seal is clean and intact. A grain of sand or a hair in the seal is enough to let water in, and the camera that died after a wet ride or a swim has usually done so on a seal.
- Weak or swollen battery. Recording time that drops, shutdowns at half charge, or a battery door that no longer closes flat. A swollen battery should be replaced rather than charged again.
- Screen, touch and USB-C port. Cracked or unresponsive touchscreens, and a port that has gone loose or filled with dirt so the camera no longer charges or is not recognised by a computer.

Repair or replace?
A repair usually makes sense on a recent model: glass, screen, port or battery are a small share of the price of a new camera. It makes less sense on an older model that has been wet and shows corrosion on the board, because the faults tend to keep coming. After the diagnosis we tell you which of the two applies, and what the repair would cost.
Looking after your camera
- Rinse and dry after salt water or sand. Rinse an Action camera under fresh water, dry the outside, and only then open the battery door.
- Check the door seal before every wet session. Wipe it clean and look for hairs, grit and nicks.
- Cover the gimbal when it is not in use. The Pocket's cover or case protects the part that fails most often.

Questions about DJI Osmo repair
Can you repair the gimbal on my Osmo Pocket?
Often, yes: motor and cable faults are the most common reason a Pocket comes in. After the diagnosis we tell you whether it is the motor, the cable or the board, and what each repair costs.
My Osmo got wet. What should I do?
Switch it off and do not charge it. Take the battery out if the model allows it, dry the outside, and bring it in as soon as you can. Corrosion carries on after a camera has dried, so waiting for it to come back by itself usually makes it worse.
In short
Most Osmo faults come down to the gimbal, the glass, the seal, the battery or the port, and each of those can be replaced on its own. See the DJI Osmo repair page for the models and repairs, or send us a request. You will find us at Rijnstraat 76-H in Amsterdam, and you can call 020 239 11 93 with a question first.
