DJI RC controller repair in Amsterdam: RC, RC 2 and RC Pro

Drifting sticks, a cracked screen, a loose USB-C port or a controller that will not link: what usually fails on a DJI RC and what can be repaired.

DJI RC controller repair in Amsterdam: RC, RC 2 and RC Pro

The controller is the part of a DJI kit that is touched on every flight, carried in a bag between flights and dropped more often than the drone. A faulty controller does not have to mean a new one, and certainly not a new drone: most of what goes wrong is a part we can replace.

Blue Apple repairs DJI controller controllers at Rijnstraat 76-H in Amsterdam. Every model has its own page with the repairs we offer for it: start at the DJI controllers repair page.

What usually goes wrong with DJI controller controllers

  • Sticks that drift or feel loose. A drone that creeps when the sticks are centred, or sticks that feel gritty or wobble, points at worn stick modules. Check the calibration in the app first; if it keeps drifting, the module is worn.
  • Cracked or dead screen. The RC and RC Pro have a built-in screen that sits in the hand during flight. A hit on a corner in the bag cracks it, and touch can fail without any visible damage.
  • USB-C port that no longer charges or connects. The port takes cables for charging, updates and linking a phone or the drone. A port that works only at an angle is coming loose from the board.
  • Battery that no longer lasts. A controller that runs flat within minutes, or shuts down at half charge, has a tired internal battery.
  • Will not link to the drone, or weak signal. Re-linking and a firmware update come first. If the signal stays weak at close range, an antenna or its connection may be damaged.

The DJI controller models we repair

Every model below has its own page, with the repairs we offer for it and what each one costs.

DJI RC Pro 2, DJI RC Pro, DJI RC 2, DJI RC, DJI RC Motion 3.

Repair or replace?

A controller repair is almost always better than a replacement: the part is a small share of the price of a new RC Pro. Replacing makes more sense for an old, fully worn controller where the drone it belongs to is also at the end of its life. We tell you honestly after the diagnosis.

Looking after your controller

  • Take the sticks off for transport. Store them in the slots on the back of the controller, so a knock in the bag cannot bend a stick or its module.
  • Fit a screen protector. It costs little and saves the display on the first drop.
  • Keep the port free of dust. Lint in the USB-C port is the first cause of a charge that comes and goes.

Questions about DJI controller repair

Can I use a repaired controller with my drone?

Yes. A repair replaces a worn part and the controller keeps its link with your drone; if it loses the link, re-linking in the app takes a minute.

Do you repair the drone itself as well?

Yes: the DJI drone page covers Mavic, Air, Mini, Avata and more, and the DJI Osmo page covers the cameras.

In short

A drifting stick, a cracked screen or a worn port does not have to mean a new controller: each of them can be replaced on its own. See the DJI controllers repair page for the models and repairs, or send us a request. You will find us at Rijnstraat 76-H in Amsterdam, and you can call 020 239 11 93 with a question first.
