An Insta360 sees everything around it, and that is also its weakness: the lenses of a 360 camera stick out of the body, the GO is small enough to get lost, and the Ace Pro has a moving screen. Most of what we see is damage to those exact things, and much of it can be repaired without replacing the camera.
Blue Apple repairs Insta360 cameras at Rijnstraat 76-H in Amsterdam. Every model has its own page with the repairs we offer for it: start at the Insta360 repair page.
What usually goes wrong with Insta360 cameras
- Scratched or cracked lenses. The two lenses of an X-series camera sit on the outside of the body. A scratch shows in every direction, as flare or a soft spot that moves through the footage. Lens guards help, but only if they were fitted before the scratch.
- Overheating and shutdowns. Long 5.7K and 8K recordings, direct sun and warm rooms push the camera to its limit. Shutdowns in cool conditions, or a camera that is hot and will not start, can point to a failing component rather than the weather.
- Weak battery. Shorter recordings, a camera that dies at half charge, or a battery that swells. On the GO range the battery sits in the small camera and the Action Pod, so a weak one is a bigger repair.
- Card errors and a damaged port. A memory card that is rejected even though it works elsewhere points at the card slot. A USB-C port that has gone loose or dirty means the camera will not charge or connect.
- Water damage. The X cameras are waterproof without a case, but only with undamaged lens guards and seals. A camera that dies after a wet ride has usually had water behind the glass or in the battery door.

Repair or replace?
A repair usually makes sense for a recent X, Ace or GO camera: a lens, battery or port is much cheaper than a new camera. If the camera has been wet and shows corrosion, or the lens damage is deep inside the housing, we tell you honestly after the diagnosis whether it is worth continuing.
Looking after your camera
- Fit lens guards before you need them. A guard takes the scratch instead of the lens. Replace it when it gets damaged.
- Keep it out of closed, hot places. A car dashboard or a closed pouch in the sun is the fastest route to a shutdown.
- Rinse and dry after a wet day. Fresh water for salt and sand, then dry before opening the battery door.

Questions about Insta360 repair
Can a scratched Insta360 lens be replaced?
In many cases, yes, depending on the model and how deep the damage is. After the diagnosis we say whether the lens or its guard mount can be replaced and what it costs.
Do you repair the Insta360 GO range?
Yes: GO 3, GO 3S and GO Ultra are on the Insta360 page. They are small, so we look at them carefully and tell you before starting whether the repair is sensible.
