Sennheiser Momentum headphones are designed for sound first and comfort second, and people keep them for years. That is the point at which the soft parts, the ear pads and the headband, start to fail, along with the battery. All of these are parts that can be replaced.
Blue Apple repairs Sennheiser headphones at Rijnstraat 76-H in Amsterdam. Every model has its own page with the repairs we offer for it: start at the Sennheiser repair page.
What usually goes wrong with Sennheiser headphones
- Ear pads that wear out. The leatherette on the pads cracks and flakes with age and sweat. Pads that have compressed also change the sound, because the seal around the ear is part of how the headphones are tuned.
- Headband cover that flakes. The cover of the band wears at the points that rest on your head, and in some cases it peels.
- Battery that no longer lasts. A battery that gave a full day when new may give half of it after years of use.
- USB-C port faults. A cable that has to be held in place, or a charge that comes and goes.
- Sound on one side. First check the connection and the pads; if one cup is quiet or crackles, a driver or the wire to it may have failed.
The Sennheiser models we repair
Every model below has its own page, with the repairs we offer for it and what each one costs.
Sennheiser Momentum 4 Wireless, Sennheiser Momentum 3 Wireless.
Repair or replace?
Momentum headphones are worth keeping: refreshing the pads, headband or battery costs a fraction of a new pair and brings back the comfort they had. We tell you after the diagnosis if a pair has too many faults at once to be worth it.
Looking after your headphones
- Wipe the pads after use. Sweat is what breaks leatherette down fastest.
- Keep them in the case. The case protects the band and the folding mechanism.
- Charge them regularly. A battery left flat for weeks ages faster.

Questions about Sennheiser repair
Does the sound change when the ear pads are worn?
Yes. The pads are part of the acoustic design, so worn or compressed ones change the bass and the noise isolation. New pads usually bring the sound back.
Do you repair the Momentum 4 Wireless?
Yes, together with the Momentum 3 Wireless, on the Sennheiser page.
