The iPhone 13 range came out in 2021 and is the one many people are still using as their main phone. At five years old, a lot of them have the same two needs: a battery that no longer lasts the day, and a screen that has taken a fall.
Blue Apple repairs the four iPhone 13 models at Rijnstraat 76-H in Amsterdam. Each model has its own page with the repairs we offer for it: start at the iPhone repair page.
What is different about the iPhone 13 series
- The mini is the smallest. The iPhone 13 mini has a 5.4-inch display and a correspondingly small battery, which is why it is the one most often brought in for a battery.
- ProMotion on the Pro models. The 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max have 120 Hz displays. They are a different part from the standard 13 and 13 mini screens, and the model page shows the options for yours.
- Steel on the Pro, aluminium on the rest. The Pro models have a stainless-steel frame, the 13 and 13 mini aluminium. The back is glass on all four.
- A smaller notch. The sensor cluster at the top is smaller than before. It is still behind the front glass, so a screen repair has to treat it carefully.
What usually goes wrong with the iPhone 13 series
- Battery that no longer lasts the day. Five years of charging takes its toll, particularly on the mini. Battery Health shows the capacity, and a phone that shuts down at 30 percent is overdue.
- Cracked screen. The most common repair on the 13. The model page lists the screen options and what each costs.
- Cracked back glass. Glass front and back means a fall can break either. The back glass is a separate repair.
- Charging port that fails. The Lightning port collects lint, and a worn one makes the charge come and go.
- Water damage. The 13 is water resistant, not waterproof, and the seals age. A phone that went in the water should be switched off and looked at quickly.

Repair or replace?
An iPhone 13 is a phone worth keeping, and a new battery in particular brings back a lot of what it had. A repair costs a fraction of a new phone. We tell you after the diagnosis if several faults together make a replacement the better route.
Looking after your iPhone
- Replace the battery before it becomes a problem. A fresh one is the single most noticeable improvement for an older phone.
- Do not run it flat and leave it. A battery that sits empty ages quickly.
- Use a case and a protector. Cheaper than either repair.
