The iPhone 14 range was released in 2022 and is the last main range to use a Lightning port. Four years on, the battery is the part that most often needs attention, followed by the screen, and a phone that has been dropped a few times.
Blue Apple repairs the four iPhone 14 models at Rijnstraat 76-H in Amsterdam. Each model has its own page with the repairs we offer for it: start at the iPhone repair page.
What is different about the iPhone 14 series
- Notch on the 14 and 14 Plus, Dynamic Island on the Pro models. The two standard models keep the notch, the Pro models have the Dynamic Island. The sensors sit behind the front glass, so a screen replacement has to move them across with care.
- The last main range with Lightning. The whole range charges over Lightning. The port is small and collects lint, which is behind most "will not charge" calls.
- A redesigned inside on the 14 and 14 Plus. Apple changed the internal build of the two standard models so that the back panel can be removed on its own, which helps when only the back glass is cracked.
- Always-on display on the Pro models. The Pro screens refresh at 120 Hz and dim to an always-on display, so they are a more complex part than the standard screens.
What usually goes wrong with the iPhone 14 series
- Battery that has faded. After four years of charging, many iPhone 14 batteries give half a day. Battery Health shows the capacity, and below about 80 percent the phone starts to feel it.
- Cracked screen. The most common repair. The model page lists the screen options we offer and what each costs.
- Lightning port that is loose or dirty. A cable that has to be held at an angle, or a charge that comes and goes.
- Cracked back glass. On the 14 and 14 Plus the back panel can be replaced on its own, which keeps the repair smaller.
- Face ID or camera faults after a drop. A phone that suddenly refuses Face ID, or a camera that will not focus, may have a damaged sensor or module.

Repair or replace?
A four-year-old iPhone 14 is well worth repairing: a battery or a screen costs a fraction of a new phone, and it still gets updates. We tell you after the diagnosis if the phone is a candidate or if several faults together make a replacement more sensible.
Looking after your iPhone
- Replace the battery when it drops below 80 percent. A fresh battery makes an older phone feel new.
- Clean the Lightning port gently. A wooden toothpick, not metal.
- Use a screen protector. It is a cheaper part than the screen it protects.

Questions about iPhone 14 repair
How do I know if my iPhone 14 needs a new battery?
Check Settings, Battery, Battery Health. If the capacity is under about 80 percent, or the phone shuts down in the cold, a new battery is worth it. Our article on the iPhone 14 Pro battery goes into detail.
Do you repair the iPhone 14 Plus?
Yes, all four models are on the iPhone page.
